A good interview cycle is the basis for quality improvement. That is why it is important that you have a meeting with your manager about your professionalism at least once a year. Issues that may be addressed include your suitability for your position, potential problems you may encounter in your work, and relationships with colleagues and supervisors at work. If you like, you can also request a meeting yourself. Our policy framework on 'the development dialogue' offers a framework to have a constructive dialogue with your supervisor about your own development. In the development dialogue, employees are given more responsibility for their personal development and are invited to take control.
Development is the key goal of the interview model, but it exists side by side a more assessment-oriented approach. Assessment-oriented interviews culminate in a performance review, in which your manager will assess how you are performing to provide insight into your strengths and areas for improvement. Performance reviews are held at set times.
In the 2025–2026 school year, several schools started a pilot. At schools Mundus, Marcanti, De Verwondering, ALASCA and Centraal Bureau the digital platform from Trips is being used to support you in your development process. If you would like to know how the performance review cycle works at the other schools (those not participating in the pilot), please contact your supervisor or HR advisor.
